God's Will

Do you ever get this question asked to you: "What do you want to be when you grow up?"?

When I was 5 or 6 I wanted to be nothing more than a princess (I guess that's typical).  When I got old enough, then my prince would carry me off on his big, white horse and we would live happily ever after.

As I got older, (and reality hit that being a princess wasn't going to work out) I wanted to be a school teacher.  When I got married, I would quit my job and be a stay-at-home Mom.

Now, well... I'm clueless.  My life plans have unraveled before my eyes as I've grown and I've gained new interests.  So, I really don't know where God may lead my life.  Will I be a missionary?  Will I ever marry?  Will I leave the state for my job?  Who knows!

But it's better that way.  It gives God a lot of room to work.  If you're the type where you think you've got your life all figured out with your plans, I encourage you to read this bit of advice that I had read somewhere...

"Plan with a pencil so God can erase and make the changes necessary for His Will for you."

It's not word for word, but it fits.  Bottom line, leave God room so He can guide you to the life He meant for you to live.  Don't get your heart set on the plan you've set for yourself that it makes it more difficult for God to make changes.

"For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent me."

-John 6:38
